RAM, or Random Access Memory, is a sort of computer data storage, which enables the info to be read randomly without accessing the preceding bytes before that. That makes the RAM noticeably faster than other sorts of storage devices such as DVDs or HDDs where all of the information needs to be read so that you can access certain information. When you have a shared hosting account, the amount of memory your web apps can use cannot be fixed and may commonly depend upon the free memory that is available on the physical web server. With a standalone server, however, there is always a minimum amount of physical memory that will be available at all times and shall not be allocated to other clients even if it isn't used. That is valid with our virtual and dedicated web servers.
